Udacity is an online academy where courses are offered in particular in the fields of computer science and programming. The courses developed together with large partners (e.g. Google, Facebook) also covers physics, mathematics, business administration, and psychology.
The courses, which last approximately seven weeks, combine classical education with professional skills and can be completed at your own pace. The lessons consist of short videos followed by comprehension tests and explanations of the answers.
Questions can be discussed in a discussion forum with other participants or mentors.
While most courses can be completed free of charge, Udacity charges mid to high triple-digit prices for courses from its “Nanodegree” program. Here, however, participants receive a certificate after passing the final examination, which is recognized by many large tech companies.
