VYVE is an app that helps to record, compare and balance the personal ecological footprint for each trip.
Use of VYVE
Using the app is very easy. Before or after each trip, you select your means of transport in the app – currently you can choose between bus, car, plane, train, streetcar and subway – as well as your starting and ending point. The app then automatically calculates the emitted CO2 and the price to compensate for it.
CO2 compensation with VYVE
In order to balance your personal CO2 emissions, you simply select one of six charitable organizations or projects after entering your payment data and confirm your payment. Now you can finish your trip with a clear conscience.
The app also shows the total amount of CO2 emitted, the total distance traveled and the change from the previous week.
Language, currency and means of payment
VYVE is currently only available in English and all prices are in pounds sterling (£). A credit card must be provided as a means of payment.
The app is available on the App Store and Play Store and supports iOS 9.0 and higher and Android 4.1 and higher.
People not only have an ecological footprint, but also a digital one. If you want to find out which companies have which data about you, try Mine. The free service only helps you to find out who knows what about you on the net with your e-mail address only.
If you want to do even more good, take a look at the Momentum app. The app allows you to donate a fixed amount of money whenever a certain action happens – following the principle If This Then That (IFTTT). For example, every time Donald Trump tweets something, you could donate a few cents to a human rights organization, or for every coffee you buy, you could support the rainforest.
